Life is a shared pilgrimage.
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; (God’s) mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23)
It’s surprising to find a sentence so brimming with hope, in a Bible book called ‘Lamentations’. But, happily, there it is! And it’s not the only place in the Bible that encourages us with fresh-start phrases. There are heaps of them.
Today, be open to a new beginning and anticipate that, with whatever faith you can muster, God’s love and faithfulness will meet you somewhere on the road.
Onward, pilgrim!

A band is a group of people who share the same interests or beliefs, or who have joined together for a special purpose. So while we often associate the word with a collective of musicians, people band together for all sorts of reasons.
For us, a Pilgrim Band is a group of people who see life as a spiritual journey with a sacred purpose.
Of course, many religions and spiritualities see life this way. Here, nonetheless, we’ll be looking mostly to the broad, Christian tradition for way-markers that help guide us towards our final “Welcome home!”
And, just as bands of musicians can number anywhere from a duo to an orchestra, so Pilgrim Bands come in all styles, shapes and sizes. What binds us together, large and small, is a sense that life is a pilgrimage that’s meant to be shared.

Hi. My name is Warren Crank and welcome to Pilgrim Bands!
I’m married to Ellie and we have 3 grown children. I was a pastor in Baptist churches for over 20 years, before venturing out of traditional Church settings to further my own pilgrimage of faith. And, I’m not alone in this journey. For one reason or another, many people are leaving organised religion (or engaging with it more loosely). We’re not walking away from God, not all of us anyway. Rather we’re exploring what it means to follow Jesus in the messy public square rather than in neat rows of pews. I‘m honoured to have a band of people with me who share in this kind of pilgrimage.
[On the education side, I have a Bachelor of Ministry and a Graduate Diploma of Ministry. I’m also the author of the little book Unofficial Chaplain and have a ‘speculative fiction’ novel that’s about to be published.]
Feel free to connect using the contact feature below.
Godspeed, pilgrim!
